Kayak Rental in South Lake Tahoe from SUP Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular destinations in all of California and Nevada. From its beaches to its bike trails to its lake, it is a beautiful place with a lot to do for all personality types. But while there are many ways to experience SLT, no trip would be complete without a chance to get out on the water itself with a Kayak rental in Tahoe.
SUP Tahoe offers Lake Tahoe kayak rentals with everything you need to get started on the lake. Whether you are looking for a peaceful day and enjoying local scenery or a fun and rewarding workout, SUP Tahoe has the high-quality equipment and competitive prices for your Tahoe kayaking experience.
Renting a Kayak in South Lake Tahoe
The cost of your kayak rental comes with all the equipment to launch and keep you comfortable - and safe - while on the water. This includes:
Single Kayak or Tandem Kayak Rental • Lifejackets • Paddles • Backrest
Our single and double kayaks for rent are Ocean Kayaks, which is one of the best known and trusted brands. They are lightweight, sit-on-top kayaks for flat water, making them comfortable, easy to maneuver, and highly stable even if the water gets slightly choppy.
With an open cockpit, you will get to enjoy the Lake Tahoe sunshine as well as the occasional splash of refreshing mountain water.
Our rental packages also include the car rack to get your kayak from our store to the beach of your choice. While SUP Tahoe is close to all the local beaches, there is still a short drive to reach them.
This is why your rental also comes with a car rack. We have an easy-to-mount rack solution for every car, even your compact vehicle. Our team will load your kayaks onto your car at our store and give you a couple of quick pointers on how to get your kayaks down and back onto the rack after a day of kayaking on Lake Tahoe or wherever you choose to go.
We are the only kayak rental in Lake Tahoe to provide a car rack and give you the option to go wherever you like with your kayak, meaning all of the lakes in the Tahoe Basin are open to you.
Kayak Rental Tahoe Rates
Our all-inclusive rates are also some of the most competitive in the area with prices as follows:
Single Kayak All Day Rental - $50
Single Kayak Evening Rental - $45
Double Kayak All Day Rental - $70
Double Kayak Evening Rental - $55
Evening rentals let you keep your kayak from 4pm in the afternoon to 9am the next morning. You can also extend your all day rental into the evening for an additional $15, giving you a chance to catch a sunset - or a sunrise for early morning risers - from the waters of Lake Tahoe.
We also offer Tahoe multi day kayak rentals at a discount if you prefer to keep your kayak for the entire length of your Tahoe stay to get to as many locations as possible.
Where to Go Kayaking in South Lake Tahoe
SUP Tahoe is located on Emerald Bay Road in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, which puts us all within an easy driving distance of under 10 minutes to many of the area's best beaches. Some of our favorite spots include:
El Dorado Beach
Kiva Beach
Pope Beach
Baldwin Beach
These locations are great for all skill levels and offer a range of different experiences. If you are newer to kayaking or have not been in a while, each beach has a sandy shore to put in your kayak for an easy start. Calmer waters will keep you more stable in your kayak as you get started. These beaches are also extra excellent for swimming and playing in the sand with nearby amenities to keep you busy and refreshed between excursions out on the water.
But for those who prefer more adventure, these locations also offer access to Emerald Bay and trips further out into Lake Tahoe to test your stamina and reward you with more peaceful surroundings and even better views. For the really adventurous, there are dozens of other lakes in the area beside Lake Tahoe if you want phenomenal views and the tranquility of kayaking in the less-traveled mountain lakes in the Sierras.
